A Certified Secretary (CS) is a trained, examined, certified professional deemed competent in a number of key roles and responsibilities, namely board services, governance, compliance, administration, public policy, ethics, integrity, communication and records management.

Path to becoming a Certified Secretary (CS): What are the steps ?

STEP 3:

Sit and Pass Final CS Exam examined by kasneb.

STEP 4:

STEP 5:

Join the institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS – K) and become a Certified Secretary.

What are the duties and roles of a Certified Secretary?

Facilitate meetings and other board procedures
Oversee general administration and corporate services
Oversee risk and compliance functions
Corporate communication and records management function
Facilitate development, review, implementation and advise on corporate governance, ethics, integrity and compliance framework and policies.
Oversee governance audits and report on implementation of recommendations
Ensure appropriate frameworks on ESG
Facilitate development, approval, review and implementation of code of conduct
Facilitate the development, review, implementation and periodic assessment of ethics strategy, budgets, programs etc.
