About Course

The Professional courses are administered at Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Levels. Each level requires an average of one year, though candidates are advised to provide for an additional one year to meet requirements for internship/ practical experience.

A student must book for a minimum of three papers in a level in any order unless is exempted or has credits.

This course is aimed at persons who wish to qualify and work or practice as corporate secretaries, policy formulators, and consultants in governance, governance and compliance auditors and administrators at county and national levels and in the private sector.

1. Market Organization and Structure
An overview of the players and the structure of the financial markets

2. Raising of capital
This focuses on the ways in which companies can be able to raise capital by issues of instrument to the general public or to a selected group of individuals.

3. Central depository
The central depository ensures electronic trading of securities and settlement mechanism for delivering of securities and money.

4. Securities Exchange
Here we learn about the exchange as the floor on which the securities are traded

5. Securities Transactions
We learn how the trade are executed, the suspension, lifting of suspension, delisting of securities

6. Financial Markets Regulations
We look for the need for regulations, regulators, corporate governance, issues relating to money laundering and prevention of terrorism financing

7. Legal, Regulatory and Governance systems in Specialized Institutions
